the past few days.

i told myself that i would update this blog everyday i did something exciting or traveled somewhere, but i am already failing haha. anyways the past 3 days with All the Day Holiday have been amazing. ill give a little run down of what has happened....

on friday we woke up in nashville, took showers, and headed to an awesome coffee house called "ugly mugs" where tyler worked and we got some coffee before we headed out on our 6 hour drive to little rock, AR. they made their own blend of chai tea and it was delicious to say the least. we set off and a good pace and were making pretty good time until we blew a tire about 30 miles outside of little rock. mark and i ran out in the road and grabbed the tred before it caused an accident while the rest of the guys unloaded some of the gear and jacked up the van so we could change the tire.

we found out that the spare had some holes in the tred so we decided that it would be best not to push it, so we only drove 45mph until we got to the venue. that night they played at a pizza place/brewery/music venue called vino's. it was a pretty cool venue and the pizza was awesome. the show went well and the sound was solid so it was a good night all around.

that night we didnt have a place to stay so the guitarist of the other band that played that night let us stay with him at his friends apartment. it was a super nice apartment and it had a 24/7 pool and hottub that we got to enjoy. we met this wild guy named john who also stayed at the apartment with us and he was trying to put all of us in some wrestling move called "the crucifix" haha.

we woke up the next morning and headed out to find a new tire to replace the shaky spare that we currently had on the van. the hunt for a new tire was much more difficult than we thought it would be, but we finally ended up driving out of the way to a goodyear tire to get it replaced. while the tire was being replaced david and i ran across the street to office depot so i could get an external hard drive, it was a pretty solid purchase.

we got to the venue in st. louis that was in "the loop" and the place was awesome. everyone working at the venue was super nice and the sound, lights, and crowd were all amazing.

here are a few shots from the show.

the band that played after All the Day Holiday was awesome, and the guys name was spooky. i got to hangout with an old friend from ohio named julia which was nice and i also got to meet a lot of new people. we ate some pizza and loaded up after the show then headed over to the apartment where we were staying that night.

we stayed with our new friend chandra.
chandra was super nice and was also a photographer so we had a good time taking photos in her apartment and just hanging out. we stayed up pretty late that night listening to music and talking, and i finally fell asleep on the couch around 5am. we woke up the next morning and went to st. louis bread co. which is the same thing as panera so im not exactly sure why they need a different name, but regardless i got the you-pick-two and it was delicious. then we headed back to chandras to get out stuff together and head out to terra haute.

meet pickles, chandra's cat.
we left chandras and found out the show in terra haute ended up getting cancelled due to issues with the promoter so we decided to head home for a day before we head out to champaign, IL. ill be updating soon with stuff from the rest of the tour and ill have a ton of video footage up soon, so keep a lookout for that.

nashville & boy meets world

today i left with All the Day Holiday for nashville. we made a quick stop at meijer to get a new side mirror for the van and nate got a sweet hat, that looks quite good on him i might add haha. we took off for nashville and got stuck in some traffic, but still made it in a little over 5 hours.

mark was driving today.

hammer strength.

we got to nashville around 8:30pm and met up with some of All the Day Holidays long time friends that used to play in the band The Red Racer. we had a cookout at one of the guys houses named tyler. he is an awesome guy and played us some of his new music he has been working on and it sounded great. i met the other guys that lived at the house and they were all film students at Watkins down here in nashville and they all had amazing work.

hanging out.

custom bunk beds.

serious business haha.

it was a great first day of the tour and we have a 6 hour drive to little rock, AR tomorrow. we have been watching the whole first season of Boy Meets World haha and i just heard mark talking in his sleep so that means its about time for me to go to bed haha.

tomorrow morning i am leaving for a 10 day tour with a band from cincinnati, ohio called All the Day Holiday (yes in case you were wondering, the lower case "t" is crucial). i am really looking forward to being on the road with them, documenting everything, and helping out with gear & merch. they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they have a great message behind their music; so please go check them out here. the tour is going around the midwest so check their myspace page for locations, dates, and details. ill be doing some documentation here and writing about some tour happenings, but for All the Day Holiday updates and other information visit their drummers blog here.

first post

i am not exactly sure why i created this blogspot, considering myspace and facebook do almost the exact same thing, but i went ahead and made one anyways. i plan on using this as a place to document my summer of 2009 even though i am not the type of person that can make things interesting or descriptive by writing, but i am going to try nevertheless. hopefully some of you will enjoy some of my useless information....
